TidalHealth, Somerset & Wicomico County Health Departments release 2022 Community Health Needs Assessment

TidalHealth and the Somerset and Wicomico County Health Departments have released their triannual Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) in accordance with the federal requirements of the Affordable Care Act. The CHNA helps these local healthcare organizations better understand community needs using data from many different voices from Somerset, Sussex, Wicomico and Worcester Counties.

The results of the CHNA, combined with other community data, will aid collaborative efforts and help public health representatives and community service organizations better understand community health concerns in order to guide improvement efforts.

“Improving the health of the people of Delmarva is a common goal, and responsibility, of each of us,” says Kat Rodgers, Director of Community Health Initiatives at TidalHealth. “The results of this CHNA will help us determine how to best care for our communities moving forward.”

The three key priorities determined from CHNA survey data include access and health equity, behavioral health, and chronic disease and wellness. The next step for TidalHealth and its partners is to develop a community health improvement plan to address these identified priorities.

The 2022 CHNA has been published and is available for viewing at tidalhealth.org/publications, somersethealth.org, and wicomicohealth.org.
